What to See and Do in Andalucia

During your travels to each of these provinces, you will see cultural relics in the form of historical buildings, traditional celebrations and nature's beauty.

Andalucia is a region of Spain rich in ancient history. Much different from our history in the United States, you will be visiting cities that are thousands of years old. Each province experienced historical periods of rule under the Phoenicians, Moors (Muslim decendents of medieval times) and Christians. You will be able to see the influences of these cultures in the architecture surrounding these landmarks. Below I will introduce you to the landmarks of Andalucia that I believe you would most enjoy touring during your travels. For more information on each province's tourist attractions, make sure to visit the links provided in each section.

CORDOBA
Known for its interweaving, complex alleyways and heavily Jewish and Moorish-influenced architecture, Cordoba was once the epicenter of the battle to reclaim Spain between the Muslims and Christians. This was due heavily in part to the fact that the city itself lies on the banks of the Guadalquivir River, an essential resource for development and strategy during times of war.
